We Have Launched a Five-Day Workshop for the Implementation Teams of the GLM+ Project

Today, 29 September 2025, we launched a five-day workshop for the implementation teams of the GLM+ project at the Academy HUB Karlín in Prague. The workshop is attended by staff from the prisons of Bělušice, Oráčov, Nové Sedlo, Vinařice, and Heřmanice, who will begin piloting the GLM+ therapeutic program in the coming months.

GLM+ is a specialized therapeutic program aimed at non-paraphilic perpetrators of sexually motivated crimes, particularly those convicted of rape. The project is based on the principles of the Good Lives Model (GLM) and has been adapted to the specific context of the Czech prison system.

The workshop takes place from 29 September to 3 October 2025. The first three days are dedicated to the methodology and key themes of the original GLM model, led by international experts. On Thursday and Friday, the program continues under the guidance of experts from the National Institute of Mental Health (NÚDZ).

Key training topics include:

• working with offenders’ attitudes and self-reflection,

• understanding sexual factors in the context of criminal behavior,

• the role of the therapeutic stance and neuropsychological aspects,

• practical exercises and group work.

The aim of the workshop is to introduce participants to the practical implementation of the GLM+ program and to build well-prepared and professionally competent teams for therapeutic work with clients in prison settings.

About the GLM+ Project

The GLM+ project is focused on developing and piloting a therapeutic program for working with non-paraphilic offenders of sexually motivated crimes. The program is based on the Good Lives Model (GLM) and adapted to the Czech prison environment.

The project is implemented by VOLONTÉ CZECH, o.p.s., in cooperation with the General Directorate of the Prison Service of the Czech Republic, the National Institute of Mental Health (NÚDZ), Pábení s.r.o., and other partners.
