Impact of the project

The impact of the project is on several levels, especially in the support and sharing of good practice - in cooperation with the partner in the final dissemination and feedback from the final workshop, seminar and webinar, it met with a very good evaluation, both from third sector organizations working with the target group of convicts, and from the staff of prisons and prison facilities, many of whom requested the manual or downloaded it in electronic form.

As an organisation operating in 30 of the 36 Czech prisons, we have also provided and distributed the manual and its findings to all of them for the use of individual social workers, psychologists, educators and other relevant staff involved in working with convicts.

At the European and international level, thanks to the cooperation with Yellow Ribbon Run, we plan to continue to network and use, disseminate and further develop the topic of working with convicts and their families - both in the course of imprisonment and in freedom.

Given that working with convicts continues to be an important part of our work with this target group, even within the framework of partnership and long-term cooperation in this area, we are disseminating and plan to continue to do so among all new partners, stakeholders. At the same time, we also recommend it together with our other manuals as a basis for e.g. the aforementioned school staff, who are often the first to deal with the stigmatisation of children of convicts and the related problems that parents often address to them, and thanks to this manual they can also guide parents in a relevant way.

We expect that both the manual and our updated leaflet for cooperation in prisons will continue to be used, developed and updated in the future and will be an inspiration for many other workers with convicts and their families, thus contributing to the overall improvement of the situation of this target group, as well as to greater awareness within society and thus to the fight against stigmatization of this target group, especially children.
