On November 3, 2025, a barber course was launched in Všehrdy Prison for five participants. The course is part of the project VOL Comprehensive Employment Program (Reg. No.: CZ.03.01.01/00/24_078/0005026), funded by the European Social Fund and the state budget of the Czech Republic under the Operational Programme Employment Plus. The project is implemented by VOLONTÉ CZECH, o.p.s. in cooperation with prisons across the country.
The course opening was attended by staff of Všehrdy Prison and a representative of VOLONTÉ. Over the 40-hour course, participants will go through both theoretical and practical training. The final exam is scheduled for the end of January 2026, and successful participants will receive official certification.
The training is conducted in collaboration with Royal Barber, a barbershop chain operating 26 branches across the Czech Republic, offering retraining courses and professional training in the field. Course graduates will be able to contact the trainers and increase their chances of employment after release.
Všehrdy Prison also plans to utilize the newly trained participants to provide barbering services to other inmates during their sentence.
