Prague, May 19, 2025 – The 10th anniversary of the Yellow Ribbon Run officially kicked off with a press conference at the Hilton Hotel in Prague. One of the key innovations of this year’s edition is VOL FANWALK – a walking route for supporters, families, and fans, introduced by long-standing partner VOLONTÉ CZECH.

VOL FANWALK: Support That Matters
VOL FANWALK is a new addition that complements the main sporting events with an accessible option for anyone who wants to show their support for people with a criminal past and the idea of second chances. The route is open to everyone who cannot or does not wish to run and is designed to be easily manageable for visitors with children, seniors, and even pets. Even without a race bib, participants can join the event and send a clear message – solidarity comes in many forms.
“The Yellow Ribbon is not just a sporting event for us – it’s a symbol of second chances. VOL FANWALK is a way for anyone to become part of positive change,” said Lukáš Salivar, Director of VOLONTÉ CZECH.
Record Prison Participation and International Scope
This year, 30 out of 35 prisons in the Czech Republic will participate in Yellow Ribbon Run 2025, with more than 200 inmates already registered to run. The event is gaining growing international attention – this year’s edition is supported by the Connecting Hearts – Foundation for Children of Prisoners and new partner organizations from both the public and private sectors.
A Day of Second Chances – June 10 in Obora Hvězda
The main public event will take place on June 10, 2025, in Obora Hvězda, Prague. In addition to traditional races and relays, the day will feature the Connecting Hearts Children Race, free for children and their parents. Children can look forward to a rich accompanying program, creative workshops, and medals for every young participant.
