Training Course Working with Violence and Emotions Concluded with Second, Practical Session
On 9 and 10 September 2026, the second part of the training course Working with Violence and Emotions took place at the Academy of the Prison Service, for staff of the Prison Service of the Czech Republic.
The course built on the first two-day session held in June, and this time focused primarily on practice. Participants worked with specific situations they commonly encounter in their work within the prison environment, and together explored ways to respond in challenging situations, how to work with emotions, and how to approach expressions of aggression or violent behaviour safely.
An important part of the second session was also supervision, which offered space for sharing practical experience, reflecting on specific cases, and exploring further possible approaches to working with people serving sentences.
Once again, the course was led by Jan Drobný and Monika Farkašová from the organisation LOM, who have long been dedicated to working with violence, emotions, and responsibility for one's own behaviour.
Participants rated the practical focus particularly positively. They especially valued the opportunity to work with real situations and examples they can apply directly in their everyday work.

With this second part, the training course came to a close. Its aim was not only to provide participants with professional knowledge, but above all to offer concrete tools and approaches applicable when working with people exhibiting violent or aggressive behaviour.
