These days, PhDr. Marie Petrželová celebrates a significant life milestone – a woman whose lifelong dedication has touched the lives of tens of thousands of children with special needs. As an educator and psychologist, Dr. Petrželová has devoted her professional career to supporting children facing health or social disadvantages. Over the years, she has worked with more than twenty thousand children.
She is the founder of the Centre for Integration of Children and Youth, based in Prague’s Karlín district. Under her leadership, the Centre continues to provide vital support to children and their families. Her life motto, “Let us give beautiful and happy childhoods even to children with special needs,” reflects her unwavering commitment.
We at VOLONTÉ CZECH are honored to work with Dr. Petrželová. Together, we established the VOLONTÉ CZECH Community Centre in Karlín, where we have been implementing programs to support at-risk families with children in Prague. Our current cooperation continues within several projects:
• VOL Rodinu / Family (CZ.03.02.02/00/22_017/0000254),
• VOL Bez neviditelných obětí / Without Invisible Victims (CZ.03.02.02/00/24_066/0004673),
• VOL Bez vyhoření / Burnout-Free (CZ.03.01.02/00/22_037/0002560).
In recognition of her life’s work, Dr. Marie Petrželová was rightfully awarded honorary citizenship of Prague 8 in 2018.
We were honored to celebrate this anniversary with her in person, to express our gratitude for her inspiring collaboration, and to look forward to future projects and joint efforts.
With respect and gratitude,
The VOLONTÉ CZECH Team
