The year 2025 is halfway through — an ideal moment to reflect on the results we’ve achieved together at Světlá nad Sázavou Prison. And the numbers truly speak for themselves.

We are currently implementing the following projects at this facility:

VOL Rodinu (For the Family), VOL Kvalifikaci a práci (Qualification and Work), VOL Zůstat na svobodě (Stay Free), VOL Zaměstnání II (Employment II), and VOL Bez vyhoření (Burnout Prevention).

The VOL Práci (Work) project has been successfully completed.

Results from the first half of 2025:

  • 28 women are actively participating in debt counselling; 10 insolvency petitions have been filed

  • 189 incarcerated women took part in family support activities

  • 20 children from children’s homes, extended families, or foster care were also engaged in project activities

  • 12 women earned certificates in welding and chainsaw/brush cutter training

  • 25 individuals are involved in employment counselling and job placement support

  • 14 female prison staff members have taken part in educational activities within the VOL Bez vyhoření project

These achievements are the result of the hard work of our team as well as outstanding cooperation with the prison staff. Special thanks go to the staff members who contribute to project activities such as Healthy Family and Managing Risks After Release from Prison, and who help organize children’s days, family visits, and more.

We would also like to highlight Mgr. Ivana Horáková from the National Center for the Family in Brno, who has been a longstanding member of our team at Světlá Prison.

And above all, we extend our sincere thanks to General Monika Myšičková, Director of the Prison, and Mgr. Iva Kohoutová, Head of the Execution of Sentence Department, for their support, cooperation, and openness to new approaches.

We look forward to continuing our joint efforts in the second half of the year!
