VOLONTÉ CZECH, in cooperation with Světlá nad Sázavou Prison, is preparing a specialized training course for staff of the Czech Prison Service who are in direct contact with convicted individuals.
The course focuses on supporting the reintegration of people at risk of addiction after their release from prison.
Participants will gain a practical overview of:
the possibilities of addiction treatment – both outpatient and residential,
the specifics of post-penitentiary care and the risk factors for recidivism,
cooperation with follow-up services during resocialization,
the challenges faced by people after serving a sentence – addiction, job search, and family relationships.
The goal is to equip participants with basic knowledge of addiction treatment and to develop practical skills for effective work with clients returning to everyday life after imprisonment.
The course is accredited by the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs under number A2024/1626-SP/PC.
It will take place on October 14, 2025, at Světlá nad Sázavou Prison, led by Lukáš Verner, an experienced psychotherapist and lecturer with long-standing expertise in addiction services and prison programmes.
The project VOL Rodinu (reg. no. CZ.03.02.02/00/22_017/0000254) is implemented with the support of the Employment Plus Operational Programme, co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus.
