Prague/Rýnovice, 3 September 2025
The next Children’s Day at Rýnovice Prison will take place on 6 September 2025 from 10:00 to 13:00.
The event is organized in cooperation between VOLONTÉ and the Prison Service of the Czech Republic as part of the project VOL Without invisible victims CZ.03.02.02/00/24_066/0004673.
Theme of the next event: “Colorful Day”
Children together with their parents serving a prison sentence will spend a day full of games and creative activities. We are preparing:
- 🎨 painting on canvas
- 👜 making their own fabric bags
- 🌈 color-themed activities – each imprisoned parent will receive a colorful T-shirt, connected to an activity with their child, such as searching for various items of the same color and other playful tasks.
These shared moments help children and parents stay in contact, strengthen family bonds, and bring joy and a sense of security in a challenging life situation.
Looking Back at Previous Events
Our Children’s Days have long shown how important it is for children to spend time with their parents even during imprisonment. Direct contact strengthens their self-confidence and motivates parents to make positive changes.
An example is the event “We Are Family 2025: A Day When We Are Together as a Family” at Rýnovice Prison, which brought many powerful and moving moments. Children and their parents created, played sports, and shared joyful experiences together.

Why Children’s Days?
“Our goal is for children to experience moments with their parents, even during the imprisonment of one of them – moments that remind them of normal family life,” says Tina Chlupáčová, coordinator of the Children’s Days at VOLONTÉ.
Children from children’s homes and families with a parent serving a prison sentence often face difficult situations and uncertainties. Shared time with parents helps them feel safer, strengthens their self-confidence, and opens the door to a better future.
