On 4 December 2025, on the eve of St. Nicholas Day, a ceremonial closing of the professional qualification “Assistant Cook of Fast Food Dishes” (code ZŠ PK 65-003-E) took place in Světlá nad Sázavou Prison.

The ceremony and the awarding of certificates of completion of the professional qualification by the accredited institution – the Business Academy, Higher Medical School and Secondary Medical School, Secondary School of Services and Language School with the right to state language examination Jihlava – as well as the certificates of course completion issued by VOLONTÉ CZECH were preceded by a final examination consisting of a practical and a theoretical part.

First, each participant had the task of preparing three fast food dishes, four portions of each, and presenting them on a festive table. Afterwards, each participant appeared before the examination board to present her work, briefly describe the preparation process and provide key information about the dish, such as the allergens contained in it.

The board evaluated both the visual attractiveness of the dishes and their taste. Although some participants were nervous and stage fright was noticeable, everything went well and all participants successfully passed the final professional qualification exam.

The examination board consisted of representatives of the following organisations:

  • Mgr. Libor Fasora, Director of the Jihlava school

  • Dana Veselá, Vocational Subject Teacher at the Jihlava school

  • Ing. Zuzana Bejó, Executive Director for Project Activities, VOLONTÉ CZECH

  • Mgr. Pavel Franěk, Deputy Governor of the Vysočina Region for Education, Youth and Sports

  • Petr Schneedörfler, Chair and Director of the Lighthouse association

In the informal part of the late afternoon, the successful participants had the opportunity to speak with the owner and operator of Luční bouda and Labská bouda, Ms. Klára Sovová. The potential employer welcomed the opportunity to observe possible future employees directly at work, get to know them personally and talk with them about potential employment and accommodation after release from imprisonment.

The professional qualification was implemented as part of the project VOL Kvalifikaci a práci, reg. no. CZ.03.01.01/00/23_056/00040201, within the Employment Plus Operational Programme, co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus.
