Strengthening what works. And identifying what needs to change.

On Thursday, September 25, 2025, a working meeting of all team members involved in the VOL Rodinu project took place. The goal was to jointly share experiences from direct work with parents in prison, evaluate the current progress of the project, and discuss its future direction.
The meeting brought together experiences from various prisons where VOLONTÉ implements parenting interventions and activities – such as Světlá nad Sázavou, Jiřice, and Rýnovice. Team members shared different approaches, challenges, and good practices from their work with incarcerated parents and their children.
The program also included a presentation of the ongoing evaluation results, led by Mgr. Kocourek. The findings highlighted strong areas where the project has had a significant impact, as well as areas where methodological support could be strengthened or tools adapted.
During an open and inspiring discussion, specific examples from practice were shared – how individual parent support looks in practice, what works well in group sessions, and how meaningful cooperation with prison staff can be established.
The meeting confirmed that teamwork and regular reflection are key tools in developing effective support for people in prison and their families.
This is exactly the direction the project will continue to take – with respect, professionalism, and the will to help.
The VOL Rodinu project, reg. no. CZ.03.02.02/00/22_017/0000254, is supported by the Employment Plus Operational Programme, co-funded by the European Social Fund Plus.
